BeIN commentator Asya Abdullah will make history this Friday as the first female to commentate on a football match for MENA’s sports network.
BeIN Sports will air the second edition of the annual football fundraiser, Match for Hope, live and free-to-air across 24 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries this Friday, February 14.
Organised by Q Life, the cultural platform under the International Media Office (IMO), the charity match will take place at Stadium 974 in Doha, with all proceeds supporting disadvantaged communities. Following last year’s successful debut, the 2025 event will feature football legends such as Andres Iniesta, Thierry Henry, Andrea Pirlo and Mubarak Mustafa, alongside digital content creators KSI, Chunkz, Adam Waheed and AboFlah. The teams will be managed by former PSG and Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal’s iconic ex-manager Arsene Wenger.
BeIN Sports News will provide Arabic studio coverage starting at 19:30 MECCA, hosted by Mohamed Kidan and social media influencer Ahmed Pato. When the match kicks off at 20:00 MECCA, Asya Abdullah will make history as the first female commentator on a beIN Sports football broadcast, joined by Othman Alqraini. Additional coverage will come from Nathalie Rantisi, influencers Abdullah Al-Ghafri and Mohammed Adnan, and reporter Hamad Nawaf, capturing fan reactions and behind-the-scenes moments. BeIN presenter Ali Shaheen will interview football legends at the event. Arabic coverage will also stream live on beIN’s official YouTube channel, while English commentary will be available on beIN Sports ENGLISH 1.
Proceeds from Match for Hope 2025 will once again go to the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), which works to transform lives through education. Last year’s event raised over $8.8m, supporting more than 70,000 out-of-school children worldwide.
